One Hand. Full Control.
At the Sierra Cascade Logging Conference, Mike Pihl gave one of the simplest explanations of good machine design we’ve heard in a long time.
Standing next to his RCA PRO 500, Mike joked that the processor runs so smoothly you could operate it with one hand – and count money with the other. It got a laugh, but it also nailed the point.
The RCA PRO 500 is built around a single joystick. Feed, cut, split – all intuitive, predictable, and easy to learn. There’s no juggling controls or fighting the machine to keep production moving. Everything flows the way it should.
That simplicity matters. When controls are clear and safety is built into the process, operators stay focused, fatigue is reduced, and output stays consistent throughout the day. Over time, that adds up to better productivity and a better work experience.
As Mike Pihl put it, when a processor is designed right, running firewood doesn’t feel complicated. It just works.
And that’s exactly what the RCA PRO 500 was built to do.
